There were SO many great things about today! Left around dusk because we had 5 hours to drive and many of the activities at the Ingalls Homestead stopped at 2pm. We decided that traveling when kids are tired in the early morning is a MUCH better option Only 4 brief stops along the way –
Today we left Chicago and ended in Rochester to stay with Sarah (Ben’s sister) and Bobby. Woke up and enjoyed a (too) leisurely morning – leaving much later then we should have Stopped at Walmart after a bit to pick up supplies Drove down the highway Kids managed to watch 2 movies in a row

Our departure was set for 7am, with the expectation that it’d be 7:30 or 8. Everything wouldn’t fit in the van the way we hoped but we were able to work it out without leaving too much behind. We departed around 8:45, ran a few local errands and were finally on the road! The 23
On this particular trip, we spent a day in historic Williamsburg, Virginia on our way to Virginia Beach.
This past weekend we took a final trip with just the 4 of us before the baby comes. With season passes to the Zoo we headed to Columbus on Friday. We spent half the chilly day at the zoo, which wasn’t very crowded at all. The animals were a mix of no-shows and good shows.
